TSC Teams Shine on National Stage This Summer
32 Tennessee Soccer Club Teams Advance to Postseason Play, Highlighted by Three ECNL National Championship Finalists, One USYS National League Cup Finalist
FRANKLIN, TN – Tennessee Soccer Club capped off a landmark summer of success, with 32 teams advancing to postseason tournaments across the country. From national championship finals to conference playoffs, TSC squads represented the club on fields in Seattle, San Diego, St. Louis, Denver, and Lakewood Ranch — turning in a strong postseason showing.
The headline of the summer belongs to the ECNL Girls program, which sent three teams (2010 ECNL Girls, 2011 ECNL Girls, 2012 ECNL Girls) all the way to the ECNL National Championship match at Sixty Acres Park in Seattle, WA.
“What this group accomplished wasn’t built overnight. It was developed here at TSC and earned through years of commitment, growth, and belief,” said 2010 ECNL Girls coach Dalton Kaufman. “These young athletes embraced a challenging style of play, pushed themselves to improve every day, and built a culture of trust, resilience, and genuine team chemistry. Their run to the ECNL National League Cup Final was earned through hard work, sacrifice, and belief in one another. I couldn’t be more proud of this team and these remarkable young ladies.”
Twelve hundred miles to the south, the 2007/08 ECNL Boys and 2013 ECNL Boys teams each fought their way into the quarterfinals at the ECNL Boys National Championships in San Diego, California, placing both squads among the final eight teams nationally in their respective age groups. In addition, TSC ECNL Boys swept the Mid-America Conference Players of the Year in the U15, U16, U17, and U18/U19 age groups.
After capturing the USYS National League Cup Southeast Championship, the 2012 Murfreesboro ECNL RL Girls traveled to Greensboro, NC for the National League Cup National Finals where finished second after tying the eventual champion.
Rounding out the ECNL postseason results, the 2007/08 ECNL RL Boys reached the semifinals of the ECNL RL Boys Central Region Playoffs in St. Louis, MO.
At the NPL National Championships in Denver, CO, the 2009 Williamson Boys NPL turned in an impressive run, going through the tournament undefeated and unscored upon. The team was ultimately edged only by the eventual national champion on goal differential.
TSC also had a strong showing at SuperCopa in Lakewood Ranch, FL. The 2016 Williamson Girls Academy Premier Blue took home the SuperCopa Championship title, while the 2015 Williamson Girls Academy Premier Blue and 2016 Williamson Boys Academy Premier Blue both advanced to the quarterfinals.
With 32 teams reaching postseason play across ECNL, ECNL Regional League, NPL, USYS, National League Cup, Presidents Cup, and SuperCopa competitions, TSC’s results reflect the strength of its player development pathway from the youngest academy age groups through its top competitive ECNL teams. The club will look to carry that momentum into the fall season.
“Between the FIFA World Cup and watching our TSC teams and players compete all summer long was a joy and inspiration,” said Director of Soccer Stephen Jordan. “We are incredibly pleased with the performances, the skill level, and the determination of our players representing the TSC badge. With the age group change, we are looking forward to a new beginning to shape the future of TSC’s successes on and off the field.”
