TSC aims to create a culture of competitiveness, growth and support
within its pool of goalkeepers.
FRANKLIN, Tennessee - On Sunday, July 28, the Tennessee Soccer Club (TSC) Goalkeeper Staff invited all club goalkeepers and their families to attend an informational meeting at Battle Ground Academy. This meeting was the first step in creating a culture of competitiveness, growth and support within the TSC pool of goalkeepers.
Over 60 TSC goalkeepers, along with members of their families, attended this meeting to learn about this new initiative ahead of the 2019-20 season.
"The meeting was really positive and productive," said TSC Director of Goalkeeping Lou Liberatore. "It was nice to get the goalkeeping staff, the players and their families from all three TSC locations in the same room to ensure we are all on the same page as we start this fall season. Also, we wanted all of our goalkeepers to be able to interact with one another before training starts. We (TSC GK Staff) know that our older players can have a big impact with our younger goalkeepers each year, so getting them together and acquainted with one another seemed like a good step in that direction."
TSC goalkeepers train with their teams but also have one or two days (age dependent) a week dedicated to specific training with a Director of Goalkeeping or GK Staff Coach.
"Soccer is obviously a team game, but the goalkeeper position is really unique and we want to give every TSC goalkeeper the attention that they need on a consistent basis," said Liberatore.
