Tennessee Soccer Club Accepts Invitation From ECNL Starting The 2017/18 Season

Tennessee Soccer Club is thrilled to announce that it has been offered membership in the Elite Clubs National League (ECNL) beginning the 2017 – 2018 season (August-June).

The Elite Clubs National League, Inc. (“ECNL”) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit member-based organization founded in 2009 to enhance the developmental experience of the female youth soccer players in the United States through:

  • Improving the competitive environment through creation of a true national competitive league with multiple flights;
  • Improving the process for identifying elite female soccer players for the U.S. Soccer youth national teams through a systematic scouting and identification program based on national competitions; and
  • Improving the daily training environment at top female youth soccer clubs through developing best practices and training and organizational guidelines for its member clubs

The ECNL is the top female youth club competition in the world.  Every ECNL club competes in the U-14 through U-18 age groups in regular season conference-based competition, as well as ECNL National Events.  The ECNL also manages player identification and development programs across the country, player health, education and performance platforms, and club development and coaching education programs with experts from around the globe.  The ECNL is sanctioned by US Club Soccer and is sponsored by Nike Soccer.

“We are very excited to announce Tennessee SC as a new member club in the ECNL and to have their players and teams be a part of our development and competition platform,” said ECNL President Christian Lavers.  “It is an important step for us to welcome the top players from the state of Tennessee into the ECNL, and to have the opportunity to collaboratively work with their club and leadership to make the game better long into the future.”

In its six years of existence, the ECNL has become the top youth female youth development platform in the world, the most heavily scouted platform for college soccer, and players developed by ECNL clubs now constitute over 80 percent of the total US Soccer Youth National Team player pool. There are currently 79 ECNL clubs around the United States.  Tennessee Soccer Club is the 1st club in Tennessee to become an ECNL member club.

TSC has a strong history of developing top teams and players, and the 2015-16 season was perhaps our most successful yet with our club earning both a U18 USYS National Championship and a U14 Region 3 Championship.  Our club has placed more than 146 players into college soccer in the past 5 years, proving that we are one of the top player development programs in the South.  With a staff with a strong background and commitment to coaching development and education, TSC’s mission matches that of the ECNL in continuing to raise standards for players, coaches, and the club.

As an organization we are extremely honored and excited to be officially announced as a new member club for the 2017 season. Joining the Elite Club National League (ECNL) has been a long standing goal for Tennessee Soccer Club.  Our inclusion in the ECNL offers our female players the ability to compete at the highest standard of competition in the country. We will continue to enhance the already high standard of player development in our club so we can meet and exceed our players individual and team goals now anchored with ECNL's strong reputation for elite level competition and broad collegiate recruiting exposure for players.  Since its inception, the ECNL has set the standard for female players, and we believe by adding Tennessee Soccer Club, the leadership of the ECNL continues to raise the standard for elite level female players in this country for years to come.

TSC will enter ECNL competitions beginning in fall of 2017 with teams in each of the five ECNL age groups.  Players interested in playing for the Tennessee Soccer Club must have been born between the years of 1999 to 2004 to participate in the 2017 – 2018 ECNL season.

Additional information regarding the ECNL program, seasonal structure, tryouts and coaching staff will be announced as information comes available.
